It was a tremendous privilege to be invited to speak to Dr Hazel Wallace, aka The Food Medic. Hazel is currently working as a doctor looking after patients with long covid, in tandem with running a hugely successful podcast and various social media endeavours.

Our chat brought Hazel's podcast to the end of its 5th series, and I wholeheartedly recommend tuning into the back catalogue to learn about all aspects of health, nutrition and wellbeing.

We talked about:

  • Why do we sleep? And why is it so important?

  • The 8 hour rule and can you sleep too much?

  • Can you make up for sleep debt on the weekend?

  • Tips on how to achieve a good nights sleep

  • Sleep tracking devices – help or hinder sleep?

Plus some great listener questions including:

  1. “If I’m a light sleeper – does that mean I’m not achieving deep sleep?”

  2. “Is melatonin effective for sleep problems? Or just jet lag?”

  3. “CBD is widely marketed as a sleep aid – what does the evidence say?”

  4. "Relationship between food and sleep – foods we should avoid/include”

  5. “Why do some people remember their dreams and others don’t? Is it down to sleep quality?”

To listen to the podcast, search for 'The Food Medic' on your usual podcast provider, follow Hazel on Instagram @thefoodmedic or check out her website to see all the previous episodes at a glance.

Subway Surfers Online teaches players that a moment of carelessness can mean starting over, but it's precisely this that turns each failure into an opportunity for improvement.

I enjoyed this discussion because it covers so many practical questions about sleep that people often wonder about but rarely get clear answers to. The topics on sleep debt, melatonin, CBD, and sleep tracking devices are especially relevant today. As someone who enjoys Eaglercraft, a browser-based sandbox game inspired by Minecraft, I know firsthand how important good sleep is for maintaining focus, creativity, and overall well-being.

Popular sleep aids and technologies, including melatonin, CBD, Melon playground and sleep trackers, should be evaluated based on scientific evidence rather than marketing claims.

This podcast episode sounds fascinating! I'm always looking for new ways to enhance my content creation process, and I'm curious if any of the discussed techniques relate to image editing. If you're looking for tools to clean up your visuals, I've found AI Watermark Remover to be incredibly effective.
