Beatrix Potter wrote that eating too many lettuces made the Flopsy Bunnies 'soporific'. But Can you believe everything you read?! Can what you eat help you fall asleep faster?

There are logical explanations for why certain foods might help you sleep better, but at the moment, not a huge amount of evidence. Any time anyone tries to sell you the biggest, baddest, sleep solution out there.. ask - is it more effective than placebo?

The body of evidence seems to be leaning towards the value of a varied, natural unprocessed diet - all the stuff that's good for the rest of you, is likely to be good for sleep!
